Dr Vincent “Chuck” D Mattera, Jr, CEO of the materials, networking, and lasers provider Coherent, has informed the company’s board of directors of his intent to retire as CEO following the commencement of employment of his successor.
The global player in materials, networking, and laser technology, appointed Dr “YK” Chen as deputy chief technology officer (DCTO) of Coherent, reporting to CTO Dr Julie Sheridan Eng.
Coherent introduces Hightactile, a laser processing head with a patent-pending seam-tracking technology that is easily configurable to perform automated fillet welding and brazing.
Dr Beck Mason has joined Coherent Corp. as executive vice president, telecommunications, leading the telecommunications business unit within the networking segment.
The new product line expands Coherent’s existing DOE technology consisting of industry leading volume and surface Bragg gratings with applications in communications and medicine.
