Lattice joins CC-Link Association

13.02.2023 - Semiconductor and FPGA manufacturer Lattice joins the CC-Link Association CLPA. This promotes open automation networks in the sense of Industry 4.0.

Manabu Hamaguchi, Global Director of CLPA, welcomed Lattice to the organization and emphasized the company's importance in the semiconductor industry: "We are very excited to work with Lattice. Our goal is to enable efficiency gains with our industry-leading TSN technology and help build IIoT-based smart factories. Lattice's low-power FPGAs and broad range of application-specific solutions will facilitate the fulfillment of our mission to realize the Connected Industries of the future today."

With Lattice as a CLPA member, component suppliers will benefit from a comprehensive selection of state-of-the-art hardware and software-based solutions that are compatible with all popular and successful networking technologies. This includes CC-Link IE TSN, the first open industrial Ethernet that combines Gigabit bandwidth with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN). CC-Link IE TSN thus creates the prerequisite for the convergence of information technology (IT) with operational technology (OT). The feasibility of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) depends on this.

Matt Dobrodziej, vice president of segment marketing and business development at Lattice, adds, "As Industrie 4.0 continues to evolve, the seamless interaction of IT and OT networks, real-time control and flexible product support are essential for safety and reliability in smart factories. We look forward to working with CLPA to deliver optimized networking solutions for industry based on our FPGA solutions and IPs, including the Lattice Automate and Lattice Mvision solution stacks."

The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) in detail.

The CLPA is an international organization, founded in 2000, that promotes the advancement of the CC-Link family of open automation networks. The CLPA's key technology is CC-Link IE TSN, the world's first open Industrial Ethernet that combines Gigabit bandwidth with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), which can be a solution for Industry 4.0 applications. Currently, CLPA has over 4,100 member companies worldwide. Its offering includes just over 2,600 certified products from more than 370 manufacturers. More than 38 million components with CLPA technology are in use worldwide.
