New board of directors at VDMA group "Lasers and Laser Systems for Material Processing"
At the spring meeting of the VDMA Working Group on Lasers and Laser Systems for Material Processing (AG Laser), the members elected a new board for the next four years.
The new CEO of the AG is Dr Christian Schmitz, board member and chairman of the laser technology division of Trumpf SE + Co. KG. His deputy was Dr Christoph Ullmann, Managing Director of Laserline GmbH.
The newly elected board consists of the following:
- Nicholas Meyer
Head of Business Unit - Sales and Application EMAG LaserTec GmbH
- Dr Stephen Ruppik
Managing Director of Coherent – Rofin-Sinar Laser GmbH
- Dr Christian Schmitz
Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Trumpf SE + Co. KG Laser Technology division
- Dr Christoph Ullman
Managing director of Laserline GmbH
In addition, a new statute was adopted by the members, which enables suppliers of components directly related to the end application, laser manufacturers and system integrators as well as research institutes and universities to become members of the working group.
There is also Change within the VDMA office: After a vacancy, Dr. Sven Breitung takes over the management of AG Laser. Dr Breitung has been with the VDMA since 2009, where he was initially responsible for research, trade fairs and OPC UA in the area of organic and printed electronics and later in the Printing and Paper Technology Association.
