Avnet Embedded opens new design center

The center based in Deggendorf will specialize in embedded products

11.01.2022 - Avnet Embedded has opened a new design center in Deggendorf. The aim of the company is to further strengthen and expand the design competence of standardized and customer-specific embedded products.

Deggendorf is located about 130 km northeast of Munich and, thanks to its technical university and its research and industry-related environment, is ideally suited to optimally support customers based in southeast Germany. The Deggendorfer Design Center is structurally no different from the other design locations of Avnet Embedded and has identical interfaces, tools and processes. The focus is on products from the Standard Roadmap, i.e. x86 and ARM-based Computer-On-Modules (COMs), as well as customer-specific solutions derived from them. In addition to the embedded hardware, the layout and the mechanics, topics such as BIOS and Linux also play a role.

Avnet Embedded relies on the concept of a virtual design campus, which is logically composed of all physical locations. These development areas are located in Stutensee, Freiburg, Neufahrn, Aachen and now also in Deggendorf. Each location has its product focus and at the same time plays one or more roles as a competence center for the other design centers. Thanks to the virtual campus concept and the uniform infrastructure, the right technology and the associated developer teams are found for every project.

Using the Avnet Embedded Design & Manufacturing Ecosystem, the various development and manufacturing aspects are combined and mapped in digital processes. The embedded products are produced in the company's own, highly automated production facilities, which offer enormous flexibility, transparency and security. The customer receives everything from a single source, starting with the optimal solution concept, through implementation, series delivery / logistics and life cycle management.
