Baumer builds Innovation Center in Switzerland

Baumer is currently building a new, modern development center at its headquarters in Frauenfeld (Switzerland) for 20 million Swiss francs. After the High-Tech Center in Stockach in southern Germany (opening in 2018), the new building is the second major investment in the field of innovation within a few years.

Oliver Vietze, CEO of the Baumer Group, is looking forward to the new building, which will offer the expanding high-tech company 5,000 square meters of additional, state-of-the-art office space for around 120 employees. Vietze attaches great importance to the energy concept, which marks a further step towards CO2 neutrality. "The Innovation Center should become a showcase project, especially in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency," says Vietze.

A complete solar building shell will generate electricity. Using geothermal probes and a heat pump, Baumer heats the interior in winter and cools it in summer for optimal working conditions. In addition, as part of its "Baumer Blue" sustainability initiative, Baumer only uses CO²-neutral electricity from Swiss hydropower and thus also ensures a clean energy supply at the Frauenfeld site.
