Congatec and S.I.E. enter into a strategic value-added partnership

Congatec and System Industrie Electronic (S.I.E) enter into a strategic value-added partnership. The focus is on solution platforms for regulated industries such as healthcare and medical technology that require MDR-certified medical computers, and systems for critical infrastructure that require cybersecurity certification from federal agencies such as the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).

OEMs in these markets - already served by both vendors - benefit from a full service that combines the strengths of both partners into a value-added package that offers full system responsibility - from the development of specific carrier boards and housings to the mass production of complete systems, all of which Meet industry-specific regulations, certifications, and lifecycle management requirements.

In addition to other OEM solution platforms, the two partners have already jointly developed the BSI-certified secunet connector for the cybersecurity specialist secunet. The secunet connector is offered both as a one-box connector for smaller facilities such as medical practices or pharmacies and as a data center connector for hospitals, large medical facilities and other service providers. To date, secunet has already installed more than 83,000 devices. The three companies are taking the next step with the development of an MDR-certified gateway for medical technology. The tried and tested close cooperation between specialists makes the decisive difference in such complex projects.

In addition to critical health infrastructure and medical OEM devices, the two companies also want to develop other markets for embedded and edge computing for critical infrastructure (KRITIS), such as B. the finance and insurance sector, water and energy suppliers, information technology and telecommunications or even transport and traffic, all of which rely on cyber-secure systems for their IT infrastructure.
