Datasensing: Datalogic merges sensor division with acquired M.D. Micro Detectors
Datalogic is combining the Sensor & Safety and Machine Vision business unit and the sensor manufacturer M.D. Micro Detectors, which was acquired in March 2021, into a separate brand: Datasensing. As of January 1, 2022, sensors of various technologies, optoelectronic solutions for machine and plant safety, automated vehicle guidance, and machine vision will then be bundled.

Cosimo Capuzello, Chief Executive Officer of Datasensing, explains, "Thanks to the merger with Datalogic, we are creating an industrial player with a total of 100 years of experience." He anticipates sales of 76 million euros in 2021.
In March 2021, Datalogic bought Italian sensor manufacturer Micro Detectors for 37 million euros. It became part of the subsidiary Datalogic S.r.l. with its 200 employees. The previous owner was the industrial holding Finmasi Group.
