FOC&T becomes part of the Photona Group
Manufacturer of fiber optic components joins Laser Components.
The Photona Group is expanding its expertise in the field of fiber technology and acquiring 100% of the shares in the Bavarian fiber technology manufacturer FOC&T GmbH. The expertise and portfolio of the two companies complement each other perfectly: while the group of companies from Olching near Munich has so far concentrated primarily on the industrial and aerospace sectors, FOC&T focuses on ready-made cables for medical technology and has unique mechanical expertise in connector production. At the same time, the jobs at FOC&T in Burghausen will be retained.
Dr Lars Mechold, authorized signatory and technical director at Laser Components Germany, is the new managing director. Company founder and former executive director Anton Pautz will be available to the company as a consultant out of retirement. “We are looking forward to working closely with Mr Pautz,” says Mechold. “He has shaped the company for more than twenty years. We are pleased that his technical expertise and knowledge of technical processes will continue to be available to us. This will ensure a smooth transition.”
