Hannover Messe: The organizer draws a positive conclusion

The first Hanover Fair after two years was a success for exhibitors and organizers. The trade fair has shown that industrial transformation is making great strides and that industry can already provide answers to the challenges of climate protection and security of supply.

At the same time, it became clear that trade fairs, as a meeting place for people, will remain key business and innovation drivers in the future. "The comeback of the Hannover Messe came at exactly the right time," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe AG. "In view of the interrupted supply chains, rising energy prices, inflation and climate change, it was all the more important to meet again in person in the exhibition halls after two years of the pandemic, to experience technology trends and to look ahead. After four days of the fair, industry, politics and science are broadcasting A clear signal from Hanover: Pandemic and war must not and will not slow down industrial transformation - on the contrary, we need even more speed in digitization and sustainability."

Around 75,000 visitors exchanged views with the 2,500 exhibitors on how they can align their value chains for the future. The visitors learned how they use automation and digitization to reduce the energy consumption of their factories and production facilities. How they operate their production with electricity from hydrogen or how they expand the resilience of their supply chains. From major solutions such as the digitization of development and production processes in automotive engineering to algae as a substitute for plastic and the targeted use of software to record and reduce the carbon footprint, the Hanover Fair offered a broad picture of the technological possibilities for the industry of today and morning.

In addition to 75,000 visitors on the exhibition grounds, another 15,000 registered visitors took part in the event digitally. They followed the conference program, obtained information from the digital product presentations and held discussions via chat or video call.

The next Hannover Messe will be held from April 17th to 21st, 2023.
