Ifm and SAP are developing SensorCloud for industrial 4.0 applications

Ifm has developed a sensor cloud based on the SAP cloud platform and the SAP Leonardo portfolio. Thus, a complete IT (information technology) -OT (Operational Technology) integration of monitoring and parameterizing devices is available directly for the business processes of the ifm and SAP customers. Ifm and SAP also form a close development cooperation to expand the end-to-end solution in the future. QMSIT Informationstechnik GmbH, a company of the ifm Group, takes over the ifm cloud services. With this step, ifm as a sensor and industrial 4.0 solution manufacturer introduces the cloud-based management of large sensor and actuator networks.

The software component "ShopFloor Integration - SFI" from GIB, also part of the ifm Group, enables the exchange of data between an SAP system and the heterogeneous world of sensors, controls and machines. The advantages of this component are, for example, the processing of real-time information from production in the SAP manufacturing solution as well as in a systematic maintenance of the system as required.
