Laser Components changes name, spins off operations

Family-run business in its second generation is carving a path for further growth as Photona GmbH.

Laser Components is carving a path for further growth and will continue operations under a separate company.
Patrick Paul, managing director of the former Laser Components GmbH, offers details of the completed restructuring: “As of July 1, 2021, we will transfer the operations of Laser Components Gesellschaft für den Vertrieb und die Fertigung von Lasern und optoelektronischen Komponenten mbH (limited liability company for the sale and production of lasers and optoelectronic components) to a newly founded company, Laser Components Germany GmbH.”

The transfer shall take effect in accordance with the provisions of the German Reorganization Act (Umwandlungsgesetz) via partial universal succession by way of a spin-off and new formation. Day-to-day business operations will be continued unchanged by Laser Components Germany GmbH. The registered office, business address, and managing directors will also remain the same.  

As part of the spin-off, Laser Components GmbH will change its name and focus primarily on the investment management of the company group and its strategic expansion under the new name Photona GmbH. The ownership structure will remain unchanged. All 230 employees worldwide will be taken over by one of the two companies.
