LMI Technologies Joins with Augusta Technologie

LMI Technologies has sold 100 percent of its shares to join Augusta Technologie - a publicly listed German sensor and vision technology company. As a result of this acquisition, LMI will become part of a larger worldwide company in the field of digital imaging technologies.

Augusta is located in Munich, Germany, and focuses on two market segments - Sensors and Vision. Within its vision segment, Augusta is already leading the market in digital cameras for machine vision under the Allied Vision Technologies brand: with FireWire cameras ranked #1 and GigE cameras ranked #2.
"LMI is a perfect fit to our Vision activities and will give us access to the rapidly growing 3D market. Combining LMI's strength in 3D with our leading market position in digital machine vision cameras will offer multiple benefits and a much broader product offering for the combined customer base worldwide", said Amnon Harman, CEO of Augusta Technologie commenting on the acquisition.

Vision: From Components to Systems
Augusta's mission is to further increase its presence in existing and new growth markets - regional and product-related - within the vision industry. LMI's innovative technology and culture offers entry into the growing 3D market and further regional expansion especially into North America. LMI 3D products move the Augusta Vision Group up the value chain from components to systems and solutions.

3D Solutions
Through Augusta, LMI can expand its distribution channels for Gocator. This will help ensure Gocator is well positioned worldwide as a leading, all-in-one, easy to use 3D measurement sensor. Additionally, LMI will benefit from the extensive camera technology capabilities to further develop unique 3D solutions for our customers in new and existing vertical markets.

Using Synergies
With LMI as a leading expert in 3D sensor solutions, the Augusta Group will continue to support LMI as the "specialist for industrial 3D measurement and control applications". The CEO of LMI Technologies Inc., Terry Arden, will retain his position following the acquisition of the company. "We are delighted to become part of the Augusta Group, given the attractive synergies arising for both parties. In particular, the Augusta focus on building a worldwide leading vision house will position us to serve our customers even better than today", said Terry Arden.
