Onsemi grew strongly in 2021
For semiconductor company Onsemi, 2021 was a record year, with sales reaching US 6.74 billion US dollars (5.91 billion euros), up 28.3 percent.
Net income rose to 1.29 billion US dollars (1.13 billion euros). Hassane El-Khoury, President and CEO of Onsemi, attributes the strong sales growth to the focus on megatrends such as electric vehicles, driver assistance systems, alternative energies and industrial automation.
He also believes the stage is set for future growth. In addition, he wants to streamline production and "improve the overall cost structure" overall, i.e. reduce costs.
For the first quarter of 2021, Onsemi expects sales between 1.85 billion US dollars and 1.95 billion US dollars. Gross margin is expected to be between 45.5 and 47.5 percent.
