The European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) annually hosts the European Machine Vision Forum to promote the exchange between the machine vision industry and academic research. The aim is to learn from each other, discuss the latest research results and application problems, explore new application fields and promote research collaborations. This is intended to accelerate innovation by translating new research results into practice more quickly. The forum is aimed at scientists, development engineers, software and hardware engineers and programmers from research and industry.

Machine vision is often used to solve automation problems because it is superior to humans in terms of speed and reproducibility. However, it also offers promising approaches to enable human-machine interaction, opening up new possibilities for combined human-machine systems, for example in production. In this context, various challenges of human-machine interaction must be addressed.

The European Machine Vision Forum is an annual event of the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA). The aim is to promote interaction between the machine vision industry and academic research to learn from each other, discuss the latest research results as well as application problems, explore new application fields and discuss research collaborations between industry and academic institutes. The overall goal is to accelerate innovation by translating new research results into practice faster.

The Forum is aimed at scientists, development engineers, software and hardware engineers and programmers from research and industry. It offers plenary sessions with carefully selected papers presenting a wide range of a focused topic of the Forum. Extended coffee and lunch breaks as well as evening gatherings provide opportunities for networking. Teaser sessions are dedicated to poster presentations as well as hardware and software demonstrations, providing ample space for small group discussions. Each participant can submit papers and posters free of charge and also show demos (opportunities for tabletop exhibitions). Each participant will receive a certificate of participation detailing the program.
