Siemens is spinning off its eMobility business. In 2018, the company bundled its charging activities for electric vehicles and transferred them to a separate business unit in 2022.

The spin-off of Siemens eMobility, which today has a strong technological core and a powerful portfolio, will give the business entrepreneurial freedom to develop into a more agile, more focused and more efficient provider. This will enable Siemens eMobility to better exploit the opportunities in the fast-growing and dynamic market for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

Siemens has made targeted investments in its own development in order to expand its technology leadership in the field of eMobility and strengthen its product portfolio. In addition, the company has made several acquisitions, most recently of Heliox, a specialist in DC fast-charging solutions with a focus on charging eBus and eTruck fleets. The acquisition of Heliox enabled Siemens to expand its market presence, especially in Europe and North America, while improving its competencies in power electronics.

The upcoming spin-off will combine Siemens eMobility and Heliox into a separate legal structure that is well positioned to build on Siemens' experience and innovative strength and Heliox's pioneering culture. This future setup creates optimal conditions to drive business development, expand market leadership and further accelerate the sustainable transformation of mobility.
