TMVSS and Hikmicro enter into a calibration service agreement

With this agreement, TMVSS becomes the official third-party source for calibrating Hikmicro and Hikvision thermal imaging cameras.

Calibrating a thermal imaging camera ensures that the camera's images are converted into temperature values as accurately as possible. A perfectly calibrated thermal imaging camera derives exactly the temperature values that correspond to the actual temperature of the measured object from the imaging components of the camera that detect the infrared radiation.

Accurate temperature measurement is anything but trivial, because the incoming thermal energy not only comes from the object being measured, but also includes reflections from the camera's components and the internal temperature fluctuations within the camera. In order to take these influences into account and compensate for them, Hikmicro thermal imaging cameras go through a careful calibration and adjustment process right from the factory. This ensures that all pixels of the camera's imaging components respond consistently to heat - i.e. infrared energy. The incoming thermal energy is then compared to known temperature points in a controlled environment. This data is used to create a measurement model that is perfectly tailored to the camera's specific lens and temperature range.
