Two percent more sales in sensor and measurement technology
AMA reports industry development for the third quarter of 2022
Sensors and measurement technology also recorded sales growth of plus two percent in the third quarter. Incoming orders were down and fell by three percent. Around half of the AMA members do not yet see any serious threat from rising purchase prices and energy costs, the other half consider the threat to be very serious.
The AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement e.V. (AMA) surveyed its approximately 450 members on economic development. In the third quarter, AMA members generated a two percent increase in sales compared to the previous quarter. If you compare the sales development with the result of the third quarter of 2021, there is a significant increase in sales of 10 percent. The sensor manufacturers who supply the automotive industry were able to increase slightly, while the suppliers in the sensor and measurement technology and in the electronics industry performed weaker.

The industry's incoming orders developed in the opposite direction in the third quarter, with a minus of three percent compared to the previous quarter. However, the industry remains optimistic and does not expect any further declines in incoming orders for the fourth quarter.
When asked about the threat posed by the effects of the war in Ukraine, almost half of the AMA members fear a very serious threat to their own company. The other half of the AMA members currently see no serious threat to their own company.
