Vision & Control turns 30 years

Company celebrates birtday and success in machine vision

26.10.2021 - Vision & Control is celebrating its 30th birthday this year. As early as the mid-1980s, its later founder and managing director, Dr. Jürgen Geffe and his team developed an automatic optical control system for industrial production. The great success with the smart camera “ILK02” led to the founding of the company in 1991.

Vision & Control was able to establish itself on the market in 1993 with its "Vicotar" telecentric lenses and "Vicolux" lights. In 1996, the image processing specialist launched an optical measuring system with an intelligent camera under the name “Pictor”. At that time, users liked its compactness, fast image acquisition and processing with up to 250 images per second. In the meantime, however, the “Vicosys” multi-camera system is becoming more and more important. With all product lines, however, the developers not only keep an eye on the performance of the hardware, but also, in particular, on the human-machine interface. Therefore, all products can be operated via graphic websites. This can even be done simultaneously by several users. No special programming knowledge is required for the individual design of the user interfaces.

Currently, Dr. Geffe has the greatest development potential in image processing with blue light. With LED lighting and lenses specially tailored to the blue wavelength range, a significantly higher optical resolution and greater depth of field can be achieved. The expansion of the “Blue Vision” product line is therefore a focus of current activities.
