Electronic position indicator with IO-Link interface

Photo

It is no longer possible to imagine mechanical engineering without position indicators. The changeover of a production machine to a new product is thus made easy. At the same time, the feedback of the positioning status to the machine control leads to an increase in process reliability during format changes and to an optimisation of set-up times. Incorrect settings are prevented, thus avoiding scrap and tool damage.

IO-Link interface for various integration options

Through intelligent communication with the higher-level machine control system, the AP05 position indicator ensures that product changes and format adjustments are carried out safely and ergonomically. Set values, actual position values and the positioning status are exchanged and the manual spindle adjustment is thus converted into a monitored process. The AP05 now has an IO-Link interface. Thanks to the open, manufacturer-independent standard of the interface, many integration options are available in machine controls from all leading suppliers. Several AP05 position indicators can be networked modularly via IO-Link master islands.

Backlit LCD display for good readability

An essential element is the inverted backlit LCD display. The backlighting ensures that the position values are very easy to read even in places that are difficult to see or in low ambient lighting. The LCD is designed as a two-line, five-digit 7-segment display. This means that the adjustment paths can still be displayed with a high degree of accuracy. The 7-segment display also allows the additional display of alpha-numeric characters, which facilitates parameterisation, commissioning and error diagnosis.
