New High-speed 3D Camera with GigE Interface

AT extends the C4 camera series of high-speed 3d sensors. The new C4-2040-GigE comes with a resolution of 2048 x 1088 pixels and delivers more than 66 million 3D points with a profile frequency of up to 32 kHz. The camera is also available in another version which is called C4-2040-GigE. This model features a resolution of even 2048 x 2048 pixels.

The new front of the C4 camera series combines all outstanding characteristics of the other C4 cameras and enables high speed performances at megapixel resolution. This capacity is a result of a complete new camera architecture which takes the cost-performance ratio of laser triangulation sensors to a new level.

With HDR-3D Technology
The 3D sensor uses a global shutter and exposures all pixels at the same time, thus affords sharp images without distortion. The C4 camera supports also the HDR-3D technology of Automation Technology, which enables the readout of the sensor with Multi-Slope and Multi-Frame-Readout. In this way the camera accomplishes a dynamic of up to 90db and scans even materials and surfaces with inhomogeneous reflectivity properties. Another main criterion of the fast 3D measurement is the high light sensivity of the C4-2040 sensors and the enhanced sensitivity in the NIR spectrum.

GigE Vision Standard
The data-exchange is based on a Gibabit-Ethernet interface and complies with the GigE-Vision standard. In conjunction with the GenICam protocol, the use of this standard reduces integration efforts by the user considerably. The configuration is done in a very fast and simple way via Plug n' Play and the access to the camera is carried out by standarized interfaces. This is why the need of producer-specific software libraries means a thing of the past.
