Transport system with magnetically levitating shuttles

B&R Automation

B&R has presented the Acopos 6D. The system is based on the principle of magnetic levitation technology: shuttles with integrated permanent magnets move without contact on a surface made up of motor segments. The electromagnetic motor segments are 240 x 240 mm in size and can be assembled into any shape.

Depending on their size, the shuttles carry a weight of 0.6 to 14 kg and move at a speed of up to 2 m / s. They can move two-dimensionally as well as change their floating height and they can be rotated or tilted along three axes. The system therefore has six degrees of freedom.

ACOPOS 6D enables a shuttle density up to four times as high as other systems on the market, as several shuttles can run on one motor segment at the same time. The shuttles can also be used as axes in processing stations.
