Allied Vision Technologies Celebrates 25 Years of Machine Vision Expertise

29.01.2014 -

With superior products and a passion for service, what started as a one-man business has become a world-leading camera manufacturer for the machine vision market. Allied Vision Technologies was founded on February 3, 1989 as "Manfred Sticksel CCD-Kameratechnik GmbH" in Alzenau, a small city close to Frankfurt, Germany. The company started as an importer and distributor of digital cameras for industrial image processing in Germany.

Listening to his customers' needs, Sticksel quickly recognized that machine vision applications can be very diverse and specific, often requiring tailor-made solutions. By offering customization services and OEM development, the young company was quickly successful... and eventually became a full-service camera manufacturer.

Today, Allied Vision Technologies (AVT) has become one of the world leading camera manufacturers for machine vision applications. AVT has R&D, production and sales sites in Germany, North America and Asia and offers one of the widest product portfolios in the market, ranging from conventional industrial to advanced infrared vision cameras. The markets served have also expanded: beside classic industrial inspection, AVT cameras are more and more used in other application markets such as medical or scientific imaging, surveillance and traffic monitoring.

The original philosophy of customer focus, however, has remained. AVT customers value the high level of pre-sale consultancy and the expert after-sale support they can rely on in the long term.

"We are very proud of what Allied Vision Technologies has achieved in 25 years", said Frank Grube, President & CEO of the company. "Our success is the result of the commitment and expertise of our 254 employees as well as our trusted distribution partners worldwide".
AVT is not done yet with growing. New products and technologies such as the upcoming new Goldeye infrared camera will enrich the company's offering this year. Expansion in new geographical and application markets is also set to continue for an even better customer service. As a result, the AVT team itself will grow as well: 40 new jobs are to be created worldwide in 2014.
