02.03.2011 -

Edmund Optics (EO), provider of optical components, has opened an office in Lyon, France and appointed a Regional Sales Manager.

The new office will serve as a hub for EO's further expansion into the growing market in France and French-speaking Europe, bringing the company's extensive product ranges and advanced technologies and services closer to existing and future customers.

Edmund Optics has been servicing the French-speaking market since 2005 when the company first introduced a fully translated print catalog and website. This new office further demonstrates Edmund Optics' commitment to offer localized sales, customer service and technical support to ensure continued sales growth in the region.

EO has appointed Mr. Alexis Liagre as Regional Sales Manager. Mr. Liagre has previously held European sales management and business development positions in the electronics and telecom industry.

Alexis Liagre's main objectives at EO will be focusing on key customer relations, offering superior service to existing managed accounts and fostering new relationships and ventures in France and the French-speaking regions of Belgium, Switzerland and Luxemburg.

"We are consistently expanding our sales team to provide better service for all regions in Europe, says Dr. Thomas Kessler, Edmund Optics Executive Vice-President of Global Sales. "In addition to French versions of our website and a Master Source Book featuring more than 24,000 optical, imaging and photonics products, Edmund Optics is building a comprehensive team to ensure dedicated customer service for French-speaking countries and regions."
