Embedded World: Hardware and Software for OEMs

12.02.2019 -

Vision Components presents new software and hardware products for machine vision OEMs at Embedded World at two booths. The main booth (# 2-444) is all about the VC-Z series embedded vision systems. For these there is now an even larger selection of CMOS sensors, for example from the Sony Pregius series. Vision Components achieves outstanding speeds in integration, for example 88 fps at resolutions up to 3.2 MP or 170 fps at 1.6 MP. In addition, all VCnanoZ cameras are now available as an option with application-specific LED lighting in a standard housing.

The latest embedded laser profile sensor is also shown as an exhibit. Thanks to the Ambient Light Suppression Technology developed by Vision Components, it enables measurements at ambient light intensities of up to 100,000 lux. The profile sensor includes a Zynq module from Xilinx, a system-on-chip (SoC) on whose integrated FPGA the complete calculation of the 3D Data is running. The additional high-performance ARM processor with 2 x 866 MHz clock rate can be freely programmed for other application-specific tasks such as the gray value analysis and thus enables the execution of additional testing tasks in 2D. In addition, a vehicle type recognition based on deep learning algorithms is demonstrated. This can be used alone or with the Carrida Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ALPR / ANPR) software to increase recognition accuracy. There are a variety of applications around access control, road traffic monitoring and smart city.

At a second booth (# 3-764), Vision Components will showcase their new MIPI camera modules for use with a variety of CPU boards.
