SPS 2021: Organizer relies on 3G rule

Tested, recovered and visitors with a test that is a maximum of 48 hours old are allowed in

18.10.2021 - Taking into account the current Corona regulation of the Bavarian state government, the SPS will take place from November 23-25, 2021 in Nuremberg as a so-called 3G plus event. Fully vaccinated and convalescent people as well as people with a negative PCR test that is no more than 48 hours old are allowed to participate. This regulation enables a largely unrestricted trade fair experience with maximum protection against infection.

“As the organizer, it is our job to offer the best possible conditions for successful participation in the trade fair as well as a platform for professional exchange. The entire industry has been longing for these personal encounters for almost two years. In coordination with the SPS exhibitor advisory board, we have therefore decided to hold the event under 3G plus conditions, ”explains Sylke Schulz-Metzner, Vice President SPS at Mesago. This means that access to the exhibition grounds is only permitted to vaccinated, convalescent and PCR-tested people, and the test must not be older than 48 hours. In return, exhibitors and visitors can do without wearing mouth and nose protection. The obligation to maintain a minimum distance from other people is no longer applicable, as are all personal limits.

Appropriate control points will be provided on the NürnbergMesse site to ensure compliance with the 3G plus rules. Increased cleaning measures, disinfectant dispensers and regular air exchange in the halls continue to contribute to the safety of everyone involved. “Intensive consultation and technical discussions as well as an exchange at eye level are the core elements of the SPS and what the automation specialists have missed in recent years. With 3G plus we can meet these needs and restore almost a bit of normalcy, ”explains Schulz-Metzner.

A hybrid lecture program complements the visit to the trade fair

The trade fair forum in Hall 3, hosted jointly by the ZVEI and VDMA associations, offers numerous exciting contributions: The panel discussion "Value creation from machine data 4.0 - win-win through partnership", which deals with fair and individually self-determined utilization of machine data, as well as the panel -Discussion "DC System Concept for Sustainable Factories". It is about innovative technologies that drive the achievement of international climate targets - an increasingly important topic in industry. The current shortage of raw materials is also addressed in the trade fair lecture program and the audience is invited to exchange ideas with speakers and discussion participants.

The digital event platform “SPS on air” also comes up with top-class contributions. Christian Baudis, digital entrepreneur, futurist and former Google Germany boss, will start with his keynote “How digital technologies are changing production” on the first day of the fair. On Wednesday the program will focus on "Use cases for AI". In this context, Dr. Henning Beck, neuroscientist, biochemist and German champion in the Science Slam on the subject of "Brain vs. AI - Smart Automation for the World of Tomorrow".

Hybrid and digital event tickets available

Interested parties can register for this year's automation highlight with immediate effect. The hybrid event ticket enables both access to the on-site trade fair in Nuremberg and access to the accompanying digital platform “SPS on air”. In this way, visitors can not only expand their network on site, but also get in touch with digital participants from all over the world. In addition, a purely digital ticket is also available, which gives those interested who cannot be there in person in Nuremberg access to the PLC and the innovations in automation.
