Successful trade fair for photonics and innovation
07.07.2025 - Laser World of Photonics 2025 in Munich ended with record figures and an optimistic outlook for the industry.
1,398 exhibitors from 41 countries presented their products and services to around 44,000 visitors and showcased the diversity of photonic technologies. Key topics included secondary sources, integrated photonics, biophotonics, and the use of artificial intelligence. The accompanying World of Photonics Congress attracted international research elites, including Nobel Prize winners such as Prof. Anne L'Huillier and Prof. Ferenc Krausz. Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer from Messe München and Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs Huber Aiwanger emphasized the importance of photonics as a key technology.
The trade fair showed a positive trend despite economic challenges, with expected annual growth of six percent for the photonics market. Synergies with the parallel trade fairs World of Quantum and automatica provided new impetus. The congress offered a platform for scientific exchange with over 3,000 presentations. The next trade fair will take place in 2027.
