Reduce overshoots when machine tools run in a circular path

Quadrant transitions (“overshoots”) are a known problem when machine tools perform circular machining operations. An innovation from NSK now makes it possible to reduce the effects of overshoots.

A new technology developed by NSK stabilizes the friction when the ball screw reverses the direction of movement. This considerably reduces the tendency towards quadrant transitions.
