Thermal imaging cameras for high resolution images

The FLIR SC8000 and SC6000 series thermal imaging cameras have been developed to produce the best thermal measurement results together with the latest connectivity options. The SC8400 model is equipped with a cooled indium antimonide detector (InSb), which produces razor-sharp thermal images of 1280x1024 pixels. Users who do not require such a high image resolution can opt for the SC6000 series, which produces thermal images of 640x512 pixels.

Sensitive, accurate, and fast

The new thermal imaging cameras detect temperature differences less than 25mK (typically 18mK). Using a lock-in approach, temperature differences as small as 1mK can be made clearly visible. Thanks to the new automatic signal leveling, the camera adjusts its temperature measurement range so that it is ideally suited to the thermal scene. No user intervention is required. The high measuring accuracy of ±1°C or ±1 percent yields high-precision measurements. Even temperatures up to +3000°C can be measured. The new thermal imaging cameras have an adjustable frame rate of up to 100 or 125Hz (SC8000 or SC6000, respectively) in full window mode. All models in this range can generate infrared images at speeds of up to 3000Hz in sub-windowing mode (regions of interest, ROIs). Sub-windowing enables the user to select and define any sized subset of the total image to be read out.
