Cybersecurity Test Center accredited
22.05.2025 - The Sick Industrial Cybersecurity Test Center in Waldkirch received accreditation from the German Accreditation Body for the IEC 62443-4-2 standard in February 2025.
This makes Sick the first German manufacturer with an accredited test laboratory for the IT security of industrial automation systems. This accreditation is crucial for the implementation of the cybersecurity strategy and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which harmonizes cybersecurity requirements in the EU.
The test center meets the requirements of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 and can carry out conformity tests independently. The tests are based on the IEC 62443-4-2:2019 standard and have been successfully verified. Sicks' cybersecurity strategy protects products and data throughout their entire lifecycle and is based on the IEC 62443 series of standards. The CRA, which came into force on December 10, 2024, aims to ensure a minimum level of cybersecurity for connected products in the EU by 2027.
