Inline marking laser with patented safety solution

25.01.2024 - Trotec launches a lightweight and compact integration laser with a safety solution for operation without a protective housing.

Following the market launch of the VIN Marker 2023 as an automotive industry solution, Trotec is now presenting another integration laser with the InMarker. This powerful industrial laser engraver is optionally equipped with a pulsed Yb fiber laser source with 20, 30 or 50 watts or a MOPA laser source with 20 or 100 watts. At just 4.6 kg and with a small installation space, the InMarker is one of the smallest and lightest integration lasers on the market. This enables flexible use in production lines, robot cells or production systems in numerous industrial sectors. Designed to meet the requirements of Industry 4.0, the InMarkers are ideally equipped for standard-compliant marking in short cycle times with full communication connections (fieldbus interfaces), pilot lasers for easy set-up, various lenses, towable connection cable and much more.

The ‘Safetycone’ laser safety funnel developed by Trotec saves the effort and expense of a laser safety enclosure and meets all occupational safety requirements. Depending on the selected version, the overall system meets the requirements for laser class 1 or, with a pilot laser, laser class 2.

Protected by several sensors, the Safetycone isolates the laser beam during marking or engraving on the component. Attention was paid to a very compact design to enable installations in narrow and confined areas. Thanks to its modular design, the Safetycone can be mounted on all integration lasers in the InMarker series and can be easily integrated into existing or new production lines. The marking area with the Safetycone is optionally 50 × 40 or 90 × 70 mm or individually adapted to customer requirements. The standard versions are designed for flat surfaces; customizing is possible for curved or bent surfaces.

The compact InMarker marking lasers with the Safetycone solution eliminate the need for clamping and high lateral forces associated with other technologies.
