Revolutionizing Data Center Networking with Silicon Photonics

iPronics has introduced the Optical Networking Engine, ONE-32, marking the debut of the first Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) built on silicon photonics.

Designed for AI workloads and energy-efficient cloud infrastructure, ONE-32 offers ultra-low latency, scalability, and cost efficiency, revolutionizing data center networking. It addresses both scale-up and scale-out applications in AI clusters and high-performance computing, enabling resilient interconnects and programmable Layer 1 topologies. Traditional electrical packet switches struggle with increasing data rates due to their power-intensive designs.

The ONE-32, a 32-port OCS, uses a CMOS-silicon photonics platform to overcome these challenges, reducing power consumption by up to 50% and minimizing the need for transceivers. It features a flat O-band response, near-zero latency, and rapid reconfiguration. This innovation makes high-performance networking more accessible, leveraging CMOS scalability in a compact form.
